The location was very good for visiting some parts of Paris on foot(Trocadero & Eifel), while on business.

The location was perfect for the family vacation we wanted. It was close to everything yet far enough away that the night noises did not affect us. The staff was courteous and informative. The cleaning staff was excellent.
The shower was moldy the first day.

The hotel is clean and appears to be renovated not so long ago; charming interieur, like most of the "classic" Parisian hotels. The location is in a rather quiet and safe neighbourhood, but a little distant from major metro stations.
I had booked a single room. Being very familiar with the size of Parisian hotel rooms I was surprised nontheless, since the room (inc.bathroom) had less than 9 sqm. To be honest, it appeared on the bill as "petite single" afterwards...

Very close to the center of Paris.Hotel staff are very concerned about solving the problems encountered during my stay. Although, the rooms are very small, they contain all the facilities necessary.
The rooms are very small.

Excellent service; clean and updated bathrooms
Rooms are pretty small; carpets and furnishings are old; elevators stop only at half-floors - so we'd to carry our bags up/down half a flight of stairs

Gavarni has a truly great location-five minutes from the Eiffel tower, yet in a quiet, safe non-tourist neighbourhood, with dozens of great boutiques. The rooms are very tastefully decorated and well-equipped, the furniture is comfortable and functional. The staff are very polite and helpful. The hotel also represents very good value for money-Paris is extremely expensive in terms of accomodation. There is good wireless and decent international programming on the TV (BBC, CNBC, Euronews).
The (single) rooms and especially the bathrooms are a bit small, although this is normal in Paris and it is not a problem, provided you are staying for no longer than 3-4 days. The breakfast is mediocre by French standards and, as it is normally not included in the price, your money may be better spent in any of half a dozen nearby cafes and bakeries. Smokers beware: this is a fully non-smoking hotel. Finally, although wireless is free and relatively fast, a bit more in terms of multimedia would be welcome (i.e. pay TV, more international channels).

They are green oriented.
The noise you hear from neighbour rooms. a little bug that visited me in the restroom on the first night. The absolute smallness of the single room. The fact they did not have a coat hangar behing the room door or anywhere else. The mattress was so bad I got severely injured on my back. and most of all, their heated water does not arrive fast, which makes you waste lots of water before you can actually get hot water!!!!!!! This is not green at all!!!!
